This Sunday is the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks against America.  Many are offering commentary on the topic.  Here are two that I find particularly helpful and a couple more that I have penned in response to various tragedies.

First, Al Mohler has republished the sermon he gave two days after the attack.  His words then are just as appropriate and needed today.  Three significant statements from that sermon:

God is God, and God is good…

Evil is real, not illusory, but evil will never have the last word. The righteous judgment of God will establish justice, and display His glory among the nations.…

It would be arrogance to claim that we have special knowledge of what God is doing through and in the midst of this horrible tragedy. But this biblical text explains that all such events are signs of our need for repentance. [Read all of "Truth-Telling in a Time of Tragedy: September 11, 2001."]

Also, Ligonier ministries addresses the same topic in the monthly devotional, Tabletalk.  A few articles may be read on the website, or the entire issue may be downloaded as a digital file for your e-reader (Kindle or ePub).

While I wasn’t blogging at the time of 9/11, I was writing a regular email devotional.  Here is what I wrote the day after 9/11.  Here are also some of my responses to other kinds of tragedies.
